Where are your bookshelves? Throwback to my old s Where are your bookshelves?

Throwback to my old shelves in my old room, where I had fairy lights set up.

I was thinking about them the other night because I might tackle the small project up putting up my lights again. It’d be great if I could figure out a way to make them go all the way around my room but I’d be happy with just having my shelves lit up again.

Poly-reading or mono-reading? To be honest, I don Poly-reading or mono-reading?

To be honest, I don’t even know if “mono-reading” is a term but “monogamous reading” sounded so weird that I just went with it.

I’ve always been the type to read one book at a time but now I’ve found myself at the beginning of three books, all different genres. How did I end up here? I needed something as a break while I get started on my next work review book and then my colleague passed me his copy of Dirty Old Media Men, which I read 50 pages of at my desk because all the speculation around it has me curious.

• Juice - a post-apocalyptic novel following a man and young girl and they struggle to survive on their own, only to realize they might not be alone after all (work)
• The New Couple In 5B - a mystery novel following a writer and her husband after they move into an expensive but death-filled apartment left by her uncle-in-law (leisure)
• Dirty Old Media Men - a fictional autobiography from someone claiming to be a journalist in Singapore telling the tales how they were subjected to workplace se*ual h*rrassm*nt and who they did end up sleeping with (nosiness)

What did you read this weekend? I read a few chap What did you read this weekend?

I read a few chapters of The New Couple in 5B, but mostly spend the weekend cleaning my room. I put on a long playlist of a gamer I like playing through Stardew Valley to keep me company as I didn’t think I could focus on an audiobook and I was right.

While I didn’t read as much as I hoped, I feel really good about the decision to clean and reorganize. I mentioned in my stories that my mental health hasn’t been great and that has led to my room being in various stages of disarray for months, so the cleaning session was very much necessary and helpful for me.

This is the cleanest my room has been in months, maybe since I moved in. I told my boyfriend last night that it was weird to see so much of my room floor because I really haven’t seen this much of it…I can’t even remember if it had ever been this clear. My room feels fresh, clean, and more spacious as a result of sweating my butt off this weekend.

But I’m glad I did this instead of reading because it made a bigger difference that I can feel immediately.
