My brain is all over the place after getting back from my US trip. It was half work and half personal since I went to see my best friend in Maryland after wrapping things up in San Francisco. Flying home took over a day as I left the US on Monday evening and arrived in Singapore on Wednesday morning.

It’s taken my brain a bit to catch up with things since then.

I have pole class in the morning tomorrow and then I’m planning to be a loaf for the rest of the day. Sunday will be a really early morning for me and I’ll probably loaf after that too.

I think I need the weekend to reset everything so I can feel like I’m back in the rhythm of work again. It’s like I left my brain on the plane or something, things just aren’t quite clicking for me these couple of days.

This is how I learned that even when reading in public I look somewhat pissed off 🤣

While I was in San Francisco last week for a work trip, I took the opportunity to read outdoors in between interviewing people. The weather was so nice compared to Singapore, and I enjoyed every minute of me being outside with my book.

I’d do it more often here but I’d probably get eaten alive by mosquitoes before I melt from the sun and humidity.

Also get you a friend who not only doesn’t bat an eye when you say you’re using their water bottle to balance your phone for a selfie, but moves the bottle closer to you for better angles.

These are some of my favorite detailed covers I own. When I took this picture months ago, I left the books on my bed and kept staring at them all afternoon.

It’s rare enough that I have white books, but three with such beautiful details in the illustrations? Truly some of my favorite covers I own.

(I’ve only read Gallant, but Tomorrow x3 is very high on my TBR)

For someone who owns a Switch, I really don’t use it often. I have games I really enjoy, but it hasn’t been something I’ve reached for over weekends or after work.

I do miss being a bear that runs a bed and breakfast and my constant fishing in Animal Crossing, but it just hasn’t been my go-to method of unwinding. More and more, unwinding = napping 💤

The only time I’ve really used my Switch in recent months is when my friend comes over. Other than that, it sits on my desk, waiting for the day I turn it on again.

Having always been a new book kind of girl, I surprised myself with how much I’ve been exploring the world of secondhand books. I’ve gone to a few secondhand bookstores this year and never left empty handed 😬

The deterrent for me was always the condition of secondhand books, but it’s becoming easier to find pre-loved books that are still looking great. This stack being a great example of books that could almost past for new (save for the missing dust jacket, which I don’t mind).

All of these are from @secondstory_sg at their Peace Centre outlet, so go check them out if you’re looking for a good place to get affo able secondhand books 😉
